When a Basecamp project is humming along, it’s easy to accumulate a lot of discussions. After a while, some of those conversations are no longer relevant — all the decisions are made and the to-dos are done.
Now we’ve added a way to archive these old discussions! Here’s how it works.
Inside your project, click on any discussion and scroll to the bottom. You’ll see a new link that says “Archive this discussion.”
Click that link, and the discussion is archived. It will now be hidden from the main project page.
Archived discussions still work exactly the same as before — your team can continue to add comments and receive email notifications about them. The only difference is that the discussion is moved out of the way.
Once you’ve archived some discussions, you can see them by clicking the link on the project page:
or by switching to the archived list on the Discussions page:
And last but not least, you can easily archive a bunch of stuff all at once. On the discussions page, you’ll see Archive buttons listed to the right of each discussion — click those to quickly clean up everything that’s done.
We hope this addition helps keep your projects tidy and running smoothly. Happy archiving!
